Just for fun, I thought I would share a few of my more recent drawings. Though I’ve always enjoyed all types of art, I never was much good at drawing as a younger person. My brother, however, really enjoys it and by now has become quite accomplished. Naturally, I assumed that if he could do it…I could probably do it better. Okay, not really. But it has been fun to explore a new art form.
Zentangle is a form of meditative abstract drawing that my aunt and cousin showed me. There is an official method and a few different styles have developed, but typically they involve using unplanned, repetitive patterns to create a whole picture in black and white.
The one that started it all. My drawing of Naruto Uzumaki turned out much better than I expected. I was particularly proud of that ear.
A still life of my owl humidifier, Atticus.
I really enjoy the style of drawing you might find in an old dictionary, which was my inspiration for the heart and skull. I hope to keep improving as I continue to practice.
